We now have more details about Cablebús Line 4 in Mexico City! At a press conference, city officials presented plans for this new line, which will run from Pedregal de San Nicolás to the Universidad Metro station.
This line will be 11.4 km long and have nine stations:
- Universidad
- Cantera
- Perisur
- Vasco de Quiroga
- Campo Xochitl
- Reforma
- Deportivo Independencia
- Cultura Maya
- Pedregal de San Nicolás
It will primarily connect the boroughs of Tlalpan and Coyoacán. It is worth noting that the Universidad station will connect with both Metro Line 3 and RTP routes, as well as other modes of transportation.
Construction has already begun. Excavation work is currently underway. Once completed, the journey along this line is expected to take approximately 31 minutes.
In addition to Cablebús Line 4, details were announced regarding Lines 5 and 6
Cablebús Line 5 will be the longest in the world, stretching nearly 16 kilometers. It will connect the boroughs of Magdalena Contreras and Álvaro Obregón. It will have 12 stations, including one in Mixcoac.
Regarding Line 6, it was reported that it will be 12.4 km long and have seven stations distributed across the boroughs of Milpa Alta and Tláhuac.
Raúl Basulto Luviano, head of Mexico City’s Secretariat of Public Works and Services, explained that the construction period for these three new Cablebús lines is estimated to last between 2 and 2.5 years. The first line is expected to be ready by the end of 2028.
