This neighborhood in Mexico City shines for its history, its colors and traditions, and the energy that seems to be frozen in the past, but it is also very famous for its culinary variety, ranging from churros and coffee shops to contemporary dishes. Among the most popular is the restaurant Los Danzantes Coyoacán, which has been recommended by the Michelin Guide for the third consecutive year.
Founded in 1995 in a historic building surrounding Centenario Park, this restaurant has fused the traditions of Mexican cuisine with contemporary techniques. The menu features huitlacoche fondue, chamorro tacos with agave honey, venison salpicón, and turkey in black mole, to name just a few of the dishes.
Although the signature dish is the hoja santa stuffed with cheese:

The concept at Los Danzantes revolves around pre-Hispanic rituals and cuisine, so one of the most anticipated events is the Festival de Bichos, a culinary celebration featuring maguey worms, chinicuiles, escamoles, and land snails… All while you sample the house mezcals.
As we mentioned, the Los Danzantes restaurant in Coyoacán was recognized on the 2026 Michelin Guide’s list of recommendations; it has held this distinction since the Guide’s arrival in Mexico in 2024.
It is worth noting that the restaurant has a branch in Oaxaca that was awarded a star, a distinction given to top-tier kitchens.

Whether you’re indulging in its hoja santa classics, venturing into its seasonal “bichos” offerings, or toasting with its artisanal mezcals, Los Danzantes Coyoacán remains a must-visit at Parque Centenario 12. Its continued presence in the prestigious international guide reaffirms that, after three decades of history, its cuisine continues to deliver the same flavor as it did on day one.
