Live music is part of the DNA of the CDMX, and its wide range of free recitals, classical concerts or the possibility of listening to boleros with a string quartet are clear examples of this. And now, in addition to this musical agenda, there are two unique concerts featuring two greats of Mexican music: Luis Miguel and José José José. This summer and for one night, songs like Suave or Lo Dudo will be reinterpreted by a group of professional musicians consisting of voice, piano, guitar, saxophone, bass and drums.
Different rolones that will take place on the same date and in the same place: in the emblematic Roberto Cantoral Cultural Center, where renowned artists such as Kika Edgar have already performed and whose venue is wheelchair accessible.
Dates to listen to some of Luis Miguel and José José’s hits this summer
If you like these timeless romantic ballads, you can mark the same date on your calendar: July 6. The concert in tribute to Luis Miguel will be at 7:00 pm, and the José José José concert will be at 9:00 pm. There are still seats available, but on the official website there are only the last tickets left, so if you want to go to either of these two concerts, we recommend you to get your seats as soon as possible.
You didn’t get a seat, there are no free tickets for the area you wanted or it doesn’t suit you that day? We come with good news: there is another date available to enjoy the songs of José José, on July 25 at 21:30. In this case by the hand of a professional string quartet, the Cuarteto Lirio.
“El Sol de México” and “El Príncipe de la Canción”: mythical artists in a mythical setting
Luis Miguel is “El Sol de México” for a reason. Although he was born in Puerto Rico, he grew up in Mexico and from here he became one of the most important artists in Latin music today, including Grammy and Latin Grammy awards. Awards to which José José, known as “El Príncipe de la Canción” (The Prince of Song) and favorite son of Clavería, was also nominated. Because just as it is impossible not to sing along when Lo Que No Fue No Será or Cuando Calienta El Sol are played, it is also impossible to talk about Mexican music without mentioning them.
And this summer we will be able to listen to some of their best known songs in a unique way: under the light of thousands of candles with Candlelight, at the emblematic Roberto Cantoral Cultural Center. Two concerts that come to our city for one night and will feature the intimate sound of a music group formed by piano, guitar, saxophone, bass, drums and voice.
