Next Thursday, August 27, 2026, we’ll see a partial lunar eclipse throughout Mexico. The best part is that you won’t have to stay up too late to see it; you can even admire it through a telescope at an event in the State of Mexico.
Chimalhuacán Planetarium Prepares Event to View the Lunar Eclipse
Through its official accounts, the Chimalhuacán Digital Planetarium announced that this August it will host two scientific and cultural “Lunadas.” The first will take place on Thursday, August 27, in the municipal seat of Chimalhuacán, State of Mexico.
Activities will take place between 8:30 p.m. and 11:59 p.m., including observation of the lunar eclipse through telescopes. Just keep in mind that this activity depends on the weather. Keep your fingers crossed that it doesn’t rain so you can see the eclipse in all its glory!
The second “Lunada” will take place on Friday, August 28, at the Chinconcuac Cultural Center and Auditorium starting at 7:00 p.m. There will be lectures and telescope observations.
The partial lunar eclipse will begin on August 27 at 7:25 p.m. and end at 1:02 a.m. on August 28. The peak will occur at 10:14 p.m. on Thursday. It will be visible to the naked eye.
