You don’t have to go far to try seafood, fish, and other dishes. This weekend, the 2026 Gastronomic Festival of the Sea is coming to Zinacantepec, State of Mexico. You can get there by public transportation. Here’s how.
At this food festival, you’ll get to try all kinds of dishes featuring ingredients from the sea. There will be seafood, tostadas, aguachile, and much more. Various restaurants from this municipality in the State of Mexico will be participating in the event.
Handicrafts will also be on sale, and you’ll be able to enjoy artistic and cultural performances. Among the musical groups performing are Grupo Aroma and Sonido Pirata; Los Player’s, La Dinastía de Tuzantla, Grupo Marca Registrada, and Los Millers, to name a few.
It’s worth mentioning that “La Bahía de los Peques” will also be set up—a space dedicated to children featuring magic shows, board games, clowns, costumed characters, and storytellers.
The 2026 Seafood Food Festival in Zinacantepec is coming up this weekend
This culinary event will take place August 21–23 at the Plaza Cívica in Zinacantepec. Every day there will be artistic and cultural activities, as well as a wide variety of dishes. The food will be priced at various levels.
To get there by public transportation, take the Interurban Train and get off at the Zinacantepec station. From there, you’ll need to take a taxi; the civic plaza is about 15 minutes from that station. You can check out the full schedule here. To take this train from Mexico City, board at the Observatorio, Vasco de Quiroga, or Santa Fe stations. Make sure to have your integrated transit card ready.
