You’ve surely heard of amazing plant festivals, but have you heard of one where planters take center stage? We’ll tell you more about the 2026 Planters Festival in Mexico City.
For a long time, flower pots were seen solely as functional and secondary objects. However, contemporary design and Mexican craftsmanship are completely transforming that perception. Today, these objects also tell stories about identity, architecture, nature, and craftsmanship.
Don’t believe us? You can find out for yourself at this event, which will bring together some of the country’s most interesting ceramic workshops, artisans, and projects in Mexico City.
From May 22 to 24, Maravilla Studios will become the meeting place for those who enjoy design, plants, interior design, and handcrafted clay work . The festival will showcase projects that blend traditional processes with contemporary approaches, demonstrating how a plant pot can become a design piece capable of transforming any space.
Contemporary design and artisanal tradition in one space
Among the participating projects, 1050° Cooperativa stands out—an initiative that works alongside pottery communities in southern Mexico through fair trade models and the preservation of traditional techniques. Its pieces have found their place in current conversations about architecture, design, and interior design, while always upholding the value of artisanal craftsmanship.
Tam Tam Talleres will also participate, a project that blends ceramics, copper, and wood in utilitarian and collectible pieces created in collaboration with Mexican artisan workshops. The result is objects where contemporary design and handcrafted work coexist seamlessly.
The festival will also feature projects such as Artesanas de los Reyes Metzontla, renowned for their work in clay using local materials, and Michoacán artisan Aristeo Gutiérrez, famous for crafting traditional glazed clay pineapples.
Much more than just planters

In addition to the exhibition and sale of unique pieces, the 2026 Flower Pot Festival will feature music, food, and various activities to enjoy throughout the weekend. The selection of participants includes workshops that work entirely by hand, as well as projects that experiment with glazes, small-scale production, and even 3D printing.
Beyond the decorative, the festival aims to show how these objects continue to redefine our relationship with nature and the spaces we inhabit.
