As part of the anniversary of the so-called “King of Pop’s” birth, a massive “Thriller” dance-off will take place at the Monument to the Revolution, where people of all ages can join this completely free tribute.

The event is organized by the Yo Sí Bailo Michael Jackson community, a group of fans that for years has been bringing together the city’s so-called “moonwalkers” to keep the artist’s legacy alive. The invitation is open both to those who already know the famous choreography and to those who want to learn it and be part of the show.
To get ready for the big day, the organizers have scheduled free rehearsals every Sunday through August 23 at the well-known Banca Jackson, located across from the Frontón México. Rehearsals begin at 1:00 p.m., and anyone can participate. They simply recommend bringing water, a speaker, and a strong desire to dance.

The mass dance will take place on August 29, the date on which Michael Jackson would have celebrated another birthday. Attendees can dress up as the iconic zombies from the “Thriller” music video or wear one of the singer’s most memorable outfits to make the event even more special.
