If you’re already planning a summer getaway, mark these dates on your calendar because one of the season’s most unique experiences is coming to Querétaro. The 4th Hacienda Tovares Medieval Festival will combine a horseback grape harvest with jousting tournaments, knightly combat, fire shows, and even Viking weddings in a setting straight out of a fantasy tale.
For two days, Hacienda Tovares will be transformed into an authentic medieval kingdom where attendees can enjoy activities for the whole family, themed cuisine, and shows inspired by various cultures of the Middle Ages.

Activities will begin at noon with the opening of the medieval, Viking, and pagan market, where you’ll find crafts, themed products, and traditional beverages such as mead, wine, and craft beer.
The shows will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will include jousting tournaments, knightly battles, medieval folk music, falconry demonstrations, medieval dances, Viking games, themed ceremonies, and a fire show that promises to be one of the event’s most spectacular highlights.
In addition, attendees can participate in medieval and Viking weddings, one of the festival’s most unique experiences. Anyone who wishes to do so is even invited to attend in costume to immerse themselves even further in the event’s atmosphere, though it is not mandatory.

In addition to the shows, the festival will feature a food court, rest areas, parking, and restrooms. Those who wish to extend the experience can stay overnight or camp at Hacienda Tovares, though these options must be booked separately and are not included in the ticket price.
The combination of grape harvest, equestrian shows, mead, medieval music, and immersive activities makes this festival one of the most unique events of the summer in the Bajío region.
