The year is almost over! We’re just a few days away from the celebrations marking the final stretch of 2026, which kick off with the national holidays. To celebrate in style, the Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra has prepared a Mexican concert featuring iconic pieces, including Moncayo’s “Huapango” and Blas Galindo’s “Sones de Mariachi,” among others.
Throughout the show, you’ll hear iconic songs, which will be performed under the direction of Raúl Delgado. There will only be a couple of performances in September—be sure to mark your calendar!
The Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra will present a Mexican concert in September 2026
The concerts will take place on Saturday, September 5, at 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, September 6, at 12:30 p.m. in the Silvestre Revueltas Hall at the Ollin Yoliztli Cultural Center ( Periférico Sur 5141, Isidro Fabela, Tlalpan).
Tickets will cost $233 per person (plus service fees). You can purchase your tickets online or directly at the venue’s box office.
Through its official social media accounts, the Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra announced that the following pieces will be performed:
- Sones de Mariachi (Blas Galindo)
- Kauyumari (Gabriela Ortiz)
- *Salón México* (Aaron Copland)
- Waltz on the Waves (Juventino Rosas)
- “Conga del fuego nuevo” (Arturo Márquez)
- Danzón No. 2 (Arturo Márquez)
- Huapango (José Pablo Moncayo)
There will also be Palenque Sinfónico
There’ll be no shortage of music during the national holidays. The Philharmonic of the Arts will present the symphonic concert *Esto Sí es Palenque*, which will pay tribute to Mexican music.
Performances will take place on September 10, 11, and 12. All will be held at the Centro Universitario Cultural under the direction of E. Abraham Vélez Godoy. Tickets range from $450 to $500.
