Mexican music will bring one of the most beautiful museums in the Historic Center to life! The national celebrations continue, and this weekend there will be a Mexican concert featuring opera and piano that will blend with the elegance and beauty of the MUNAL.
The recital will take place this Sunday, September 20; “¡Ay!, Mi México amado” awaits you with pieces by great composers such as Ponce, García, Fernández, Esperón, Velázquez, Grever, and Agustín Lara. This performance will feature soprano Silvia Rizo and the talented Ángel Rodríguez on piano.
This concert is part of the museum’s September program, which includes performances on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month. If you can’t attend the Mexican music concert, there are still two other performances on the schedule:
On Saturday, September 19, you’ll enjoy the “Vocalise” program featuring works by Kilar, Rasquier, Maurat, Rachmaninoff, and Uribe, performed by soprano Luz Angélica Uribe and accompanied by Héctor Cruz on piano.
To close out the month, on Sunday, September 27, a selection of works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be performed by soprano Rosa María Diez and pianist Enrique Bárcena.
All recitals begin at 11:30 a.m. Please note that admission is free, but space is limited and you’ll need an admission ticket. Set your alarm so you’ll be among the first to arrive!
Whether you’re in a tricolor mood and lean toward the Mexican concert or want to enjoy other classical pieces, visiting the MUNAL during the last week of September is a choice you won’t regret.
