Can you imagine watching a movie surrounded by trees and under the stars? This May 23, you can do just that at the Ecoguardas Environmental Culture Center’s Movie Picnic, a nighttime experience in the heart of Ajusco’s natural surroundings that will also feature guided tours and camping options.
The event is held in celebration of Children’s Day and aims to let kids and adults alike enjoy a unique evening away from the noise of the city. In addition to the screening, there will be a night tour of the Protected Natural Area and an ideal setting to connect with nature.
The best part is that you choose how you want to experience it: you can just attend the tour and picnic movie or stay overnight in the campground.
What movie will they watch? The title remains a secret, as the film is chosen by vote at the start of the event, and all options have an environmental theme.
This is what the nighttime Movie Picnic at Ecoguardas will be like
The plan includes an outdoor picnic-style screening, so you can bring blankets, food, and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy the show. Please note: single-use or disposable plastics are not allowed on the premises as part of the venue’s environmental measures.
If you choose the camping option, you’ll need to bring your own camping gear, as well as warm clothing and comfortable shoes, since temperatures in the Ajusco area tend to drop significantly at night.
The event requires prior registration, and punctuality is important to be able to participate in all activities.
