This August 24 you have an appointment with nature, traditional cuisine and community learning in a mushroom picking tour in Iztaccihuatl.
The first thing you should know is that this incredible experience is organized by Exploradia, a collective specialized in conscious hiking experiences and connection with nature.
About the Iztaccihuatl mushroom picking tour

The adventure begins in Mexico City with round transportation included to San Pedro Nexapa, a charming village located at the foot of the Iztaccihuatl volcano.
From there you will begin a mountain hike in the company of local guides and collectors, who will teach you how to identify different species of edible mushrooms and how to collect them responsibly, always taking care of the balance of the ecosystem.
After the tour, you will live a unique gastronomic experience: you will cook the mushrooms collected in a traditional roadside kitchen, where you will also learn how to prepare molcajete sauces, tortillas al comal and delicious quesadillas with ingredients from the forest. Everything is shared in community, among stoves, stories and flavors that connect with the land.

This experience is designed for a small group of only 15 people, which guarantees an intimate and authentic atmosphere. The cost is $1,500 pesos. It includes transportation from CDMX, guided walk, accompaniment by local collectors, cooking workshop and a full meal.
More than a walk, this tour is an invitation to reconnect with the land, to learn from those who live and respect the forest, and to savor what nature generously offers us.
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a mushroom picking tour in Iztaccihuatl, combining adventure, learning and local cuisine in a respectful and memorable way.
