It’s a fact! This weekend we will be able to see My Friend the Robot for free at the Cineteca de Chapultepec. The best part is that it will be an outdoor screening. Take note and save the date because there will only be two showings.
My Friend the Robot is a movie that premiered in 2023 and tells the story of a dog that buys a robot in order to form a friendship with him. Over time they become inseparable; however, an incident on the beach separates them.
The film is based on the graphic novel Robot Dreams by Sara Varon and is distinguished by its lack of dialogue. The film will take you on a journey where friendship is the protagonist. If you haven’t seen the movie or want to see it on the big screen again, now is the perfect time to do so.
When will My Friend the Robot be screened at the Cineteca de Chapultepec?
According to the Cineteca’s billboard there will be two screenings: September 20 and 21. Both will be at 4:00 p.m. at the Open Air Forum of the Cineteca Nacional de Chapultepec (1401 Vasco de Quiroga Avenue, Santa Fe neighborhood, Álvaro Obregón).
We recommend you arrive early so you don’t run out of space. You can get to the Cineteca by car or by public transportation. If you take the second option you can take Line 3 of the Cablebus and get off at the Cineteca station; then you will have to walk about 5 minutes to get to the venue.
In addition, there will be another screening. On September 21 it will be screened at the Cineteca Nacional de México at 7:30 p.m. (Avenida México Coyoacán 389, colonia Xoco, alcaldía Benito Juárez). That’s right: it will be an evening screening. Admission is free.
