If you’re thinking about starting your higher education soon, this is of great interest to you: the creation of a new UNAM campus has been confirmed!
The Head of Government, Clara Brugada, and the rector of the National University, Leonardo Lomelí, have just reached a historic agreement to build a National School of Higher Studies (ENES).
The scale of this project is massive: the facilities will have the capacity to accommodate 20,000 students!
What bachelor’s degree programs will be offered at the new UNAM campus?

The academic focus is on the future. According to the General Directorate of Social Communication, the campus will offer highly sought-after bachelor’s degree programs such as Medicine, Data Science, and Nanotechnology.
But that’s not all—there will also be a strong emphasis on programs focused on ecology and the environment.
Fun fact: This is the first educational project of this magnitude in the Valley of Mexico in more than five decades. The last time the university undertook a similar initiative was between 1973 and 1976, when the famous ENEPs were established. Later, in 1979, the schools of Nursing and Fine Arts opened in the south.
This initiative aims to decentralize education and provide a scientific boost to an area that had been left behind in terms of large campuses. So now you know—start getting your notebooks ready and tell your friends, because the new UNAM campus is on its way to making history.
