One of the season’s most delightful events returns to Mexico City: the night picnic in Chapultepec, now part of the 2026 Forest Festival: Aqüifera.
This event will be the highlight of the festival and promises a completely unique experience. The meeting point for this edition? The Xochipilli Fountain, on the Paseo de los Compositores. A space filled with light, color, and an atmosphere inspired by water awaits you.
Chapultepec Forest has finally revealed the date of this magical event. The Night Picnic, Lantern Night , will take place on April 4 and will begin at 6:00 p.m.
It’s the perfect outing if you’re looking for a relaxed yet special plan during Holy Week. You can bring your blanket, pack a picnic, and enjoy the surroundings as everything lights up around you.
Just keep in mind that alcoholic beverages are not allowed, but you can bring food to share with friends, family, or your partner. You can also purchase food at Aztlán, Bistro Chapultepec, and from authorized vendors.
The best part? This edition of the Night Picnic will be 100% pet-friendly. If you decide to bring your dog along, they must be on a leash at all times, and you must pick up after them, if necessary.

The Night Picnic is part of the 2026 Forest Festival, which this year has water as its theme under the concept Aqüifera.
For four days, Chapultepec Forest will host activities at 21 venues, including workshops, lectures, theater, dance, music, and film, as well as special installations such as a monumental gateway and fountain displays.
Although the entire festival is worth experiencing, the Night Picnic stands out for its immersive atmosphere and its evening schedule, something uncommon for this type of event in the city.
