If you left work late or missed the Metro after a night out, take the Nochebús. It’s a public transit service that operates in the early morning hours every day of the year. Here are the details.
The Secretariat of Mobility (SEMOVI) has a program called NOCHEBÚS to provide public transportation service late at night. The idea is to give users nighttime transportation options so they can get home safely.
Mexico City’s Electric Transportation Service (“zero emissions”) is the transit system responsible for providing this service on Line 1. It operates from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., Monday through Sunday, every day of the year.
The fare is $7, and seniors, people with disabilities, and children under 5 ride for free. This service covers four boroughs: Benito Juárez, Coyoacán, Cuauhtémoc, and Gustavo A. Madero.
It’s worth noting that it passes through the city’s busiest areas, as well as nightlife hotspots and workplaces. You can view the Nochebús map, which runs from Central del Sur to Central del Norte, here.
You should know that there is also an RTP bus that provides this service; it costs the same and operates on the same days of the year. However, it has six different routes:
These are the RTP Nochebús routes in Mexico City
- 11A – From Avenida 604 in Aragón to the Chapultepec Metro station.
- 47A – From Alameda Oriente on Venustiano Carranza to Bosque de Nativitas in Xochimilco.
