Forget about the concrete grind for a moment and get ready for an extraordinary Sunday, because the 2026 World Oceans Day Festival is about to show that the ocean has its own hidden corner in Chapultepec Forest.
Although the coast is hours away, this event is here to remind us that the air we breathe in the city, the climate, and a large part of the national economy originate in the depths of the ocean. Saltwater influences our lives much more than we realize!
The event is next Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a free program for all ages.
The Forest will serve as a meeting place where scientists, activists, coastal communities, and marine life experts will reflect on biodiversity, food, the ecosystem, and the climate crisis, among other topics.
A journey full of experiences

The Main Forum “Las Tazas,” the Quinta Colorada, the Calzada del Rey, and the Audiorrama will be the venues where the activities will take place.
The event will feature visual and auditory experiences, including a sensorama with soundscapes, audiovisual projections on Mexico’s coastlines, photography exhibitions, urban art installations, and a stage filled with live music and dance.
Seafood cuisine in Chapultepec Forest

The experience also extends to the palate through a food fair where renowned chefs and culinary collectives will offer culinary samples and tastings of seafood products, promoting mindful consumption.
This festival is the perfect way to spend the weekend with the family, learn something new, and reflect on the impact of our environmental decisions as we immerse ourselves in the ocean, which, for one day, moves to the green spaces of Chapultepec.
