Bar Ópera (1876)
The place was originally located on San Juan de Letran and Juarez Avenue. It opened its doors in 1876 and moved in 1895 to 5 de Mayo and Filomeno Mata, according to its official website. Different personalities attended the place, from Porfirio Díaz to Pancho Villa who shot inside; in fact the shot left a mark on the ceiling that can still be seen.
It is currently a restaurant bar where they offer different dishes, from octopus Galician style, shrimp cocktail, milanesa and grilled meat to chamorro Galician style.

2. Tacos Beatriz (1910)
Among the oldest restaurants in CDMX is this one, whose history began in 1910. Although it is no longer in its original location, you can still visit this place. It offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.

3. Café de Tacuba (1912)
It is located in a 17th century house and was inaugurated in 1914. Just as you read it: it is just a few months away from its 110th anniversary. According to its website, it was founded by Mr. Dionisio Mollinedo Hernández, who sought to transmit his taste for Mexican food.
It is a space full of history and nostalgia that will take you to another era. Regarding the food, you will find an extensive menu with specialties such as Tacuba style panuchos, chalupas a la poblana and special Tacuba tacos.

4. Café la Blanca (1915)
Although it may not look like it, this place was first a dairy. Its history began in 1915 and by 1943 it expanded its menu and space to become what it is today: one of the must-visit places in the Historic Center.
You can go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The place is very cozy. Be sure to try their traditional café con leche.

5. El Taquito (1917)
Did you know that Marilyn Monroe had her good tacos during her visit to Mexico? It was in this restaurant! Throughout its more than 100 years of history, it has received many celebrities, whose photos you can see on the walls of the restaurant.
The menu offers everything from seasonal dishes such as chiles en nogada to mole and baked kid.
