On the morning of Wednesday, January 28, it was announced when the Observatorio station of the Interurban Train will open. We tell you everything you need to know about it.
At a press conference, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, president of Mexico, announced that on Monday, February 2, the section from Santa Fe to Observatorio will be inaugurated, which means the opening of the last two stations of the El Insurgente Train.
“On Monday, February 2, the train that runs from Santa Fe to Observatorio will be inaugurated, so that people can use it,” said the president.

The first thing you need to know is that the Interurban Train began operations in September 2023 on its section corresponding to the State of Mexico. It was in September 2024 when the service was extended to the Santa Fe station, with two stations still to be completed: Vasco de Quiroga and Observatorio.
These stations will open on February 2, leaving the route as follows:
- Observatorio
- Vasco de Quiroga
- Santa Fe
- Lerma
- Metepec
- Toluca Center
- Zinacantepec
To board, you must present your integrated mobility card. Currently, the fare is $60 from Santa Fe to any station in the State of Mexico and $15 between stations in Edomex. The official price for this transport will be announced shortly, once the route is fully open.
