If you’re looking for a unique way to celebrate May 10, this Mother’s Day opera gala in Mexico City promises an evening filled with classical music, stunning voices, and some of the most famous pieces in the world repertoire.
The Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra ( OFCM), in collaboration with the Bellas Artes Opera Studio, will present a special performance in the Silvestre Revueltas Hall of the Ollin Yoliztli Cultural Center under the guest baton of Raúl Aquiles Delgado.
The concert will bring together sopranos, mezzo-sopranos, tenors, basses, and pianists from the Bellas Artes Opera Studio, who will perform works by Mozart, Puccini, Rossini, Handel, Bizet, and other great composers.
You’ll hear music from Turandot, Carmen, and Rusalka

The program will include arias and overtures from some of the world’s most renowned operas. Among the most anticipated pieces are “Nessun dorma” from Turandot, “O mio babbino caro” from Gianni Schicchi, “Lascia ch’io pianga” from Rinaldo, and excerpts from Carmen, La Cenerentola, Rusalka, and Die Zauberflöte.
In addition to being a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day, it is also one of the most affordable options for enjoying live opera with a full orchestra in Mexico City.
Among the participating voices will be Belén Marín, Carol Lodela, Natalia Mora, Salvador Jáquez, Osvaldo Martínez, and Guillermo Montecino, among other artists who are beneficiaries of the INBAL Artist Residency Program.
