Go get your camera ready because in a few weeks the piñata exhibition 2025 will arrive at MAP (Museo de Arte Popular). You will see pieces of different shapes and colors that show the great creativity that exists in Mexico.
This exhibition is part of the traditional Mexican Piñata Contest, which will celebrate its 19th edition in 2025. Participants can win different economic prizes ranging from $10,000 to $20,000.
When will be the 2025 piñata exhibition at MAP?

According to the call presented by said museum in the CDMX, the exhibition will be held from November 8 to December 14, 2025 in the MAP’s courtyard.
Each year, piñatas made by Mexican artisans and artists are displayed. Being free themed, the pieces stand out for their enormous variety of colors and figures. You are sure to take amazing pictures.
The Museo de Arte Popular is located at Revillagigedo 11, Centro, in the Cuauhtémoc district. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00 hours. The entrance fee is $60.
How do I enter the piñata contest at the Museum of Popular Art?
The call for entries is now open! It is aimed at Mexican artists and artisans, as well as foreigners residing in the country. To participate you must make a piñata based on a clay pot.
You must use materials such as newspaper, Chinese paper, etc. (except plastic or metallic materials). The awards ceremony will be held on November 8. The prizes will be:
- First place: $20,000 (and the piñata will become part of MAP’s collection).
- Second place: $15,000
- Third place: $10,000
