If you grew up watching the anime after school, playing on your Game Boy, or trading cards during recess, you surely know that Pokémon is more than just a franchise: it’s part of an entire generation. And to celebrate its history, the Museo del Juguete Antiguo México (MUJAM) will have a special event in Mexico City.
This space dedicated to nostalgia and pop culture is joining in the Pokémon Day celebrations with a themed bazaar that will bring together collectibles, art, cards, and many other items inspired by the world of Pikachu and friends.
The event will take place on March 28 and 29 inside the museum, located in the Doctores neighborhood. If you’re a fan of the saga or simply love geek culture, it’s a good excuse to stop by and relive some of the most iconic memories of your childhood.
A Pokémon bazaar full of nostalgia
During the event, you’ll find stalls with collectibles, official game cards, illustrations, toys, and various items inspired by Pokémon. As is often the case with these types of themed bazaars, it’s also a great opportunity to discover curious or rare items that are hard to find in conventional stores.
In addition, the atmosphere at MUJAM makes the experience even more special. This museum is famous for housing one of the largest toy collections in Mexico, with thousands of pieces spanning decades of popular culture.
That means that while you browse the bazaar, you’ll also find toys, figures, video games, and objects that marked different eras.
Pokémon turned 30 in 2026.

Pokémon Day is celebrated every February 27, the date that commemorates the launch of the first video games in the franchise: Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, which debuted in Japan in 1996.
Since then, the date has become a global celebration where fans from all over the world celebrate the cultural impact of the saga. And 2026 is a particularly important year, as Pokémon celebrates 30 years of history.
For three decades, the phenomenon has grown far beyond video games. Anime, card games, movies, and thousands of derivative products have built a huge community of trainers that continues to grow from generation to generation.
That’s why events like this bazaar at MUJAM are a perfect way to celebrate that shared history: remembering characters, trading cards, and, of course, trying to catch them all.
