If you’re a fan of Mexican cuisine, you’ll have to wait a little longer to enjoy the Nopal Fair at the Monument to the Revolution. Originally scheduled to take place over three days in late May, the event was set to feature nopal-based products, traditional dishes, and other offerings prepared by producers from Mexico City.
However, the Ministry of the Environment has just announced on its social media that the fair has been postponed until further notice, so it is unclear when it will officially take place.
The event aims to celebrate one of the most iconic ingredients in Mexican cuisine and, at the same time, highlight the work of the people who preserve the capital’s Conservation Area. So, in addition to enjoying delicious food, you’ll also be able to learn more about the city’s biocultural richness.
There will be food, products, and activities dedicated to the nopal
The Nopal Fair will bring together culinary offerings and products made with this ingredient, ranging from snacks and drinks to more innovative options. Local producers will also participate, sharing their work and traditions.
In addition to the food, a 100% family-friendly atmosphere is expected, with spaces to learn about the environmental and economic importance of the nopal in Mexico City. Without a doubt, it will be a great option for those looking for free and unique activities in the city.
