To truly get to know a place, it’s not enough just to visit it: talking with its people, tasting its food, and learning about its history are all part of the journey to discover it. For a couple of days, various cultural expressions from Querétaro will come to Los Pinos, offering a great opportunity to check out its pottery, try the gorditas de maíz quebrado, and even dance the huapango. All of this will be made possible by the people who live in this state and will share their artistic and culinary legacies with us.
The program will include music, dance, workshops, plays, children’s concerts, and a wide-ranging menu prepared by traditional cooks. One of the most anticipated activities is the workshop to make your own Lele doll alongside artisans from Amealco.
And for food?
The Querétaro en Los Pinos festival will set the smoky kitchens ablaze with a menu you won’t be able to resist: rabbit in peanut sauce, xoconostle in chileatole, nopales de santo, xoconostle mole, turkey, pipián, barbacoa, dried apricots in guajillo chili, and cracked corn gorditas are just some of the delicacies you’ll be able to sample.
At the same time, various food items will be sold at the Mercado del Solar, ranging from pulque bread and goat’s milk to artisanal chocolate and guava sweets.
Dig into your savings and don’t ask for a discount!

Artisans from different regions of Querétaro will offer their creations in ceramics, papier-mâché, stone, wood, and much more, so it will be a great opportunity to take something beautiful home. Reminder: Mother’s Day is coming up. 😉
