A new exhibition joins the list of exhibitions to see in Mexico City. It’s “Rituales“, the exhibition that will arrive at centro cultural Lago Algo at the end of September. We’ll tell you what it’s all about.
The key point of the exhibition are the masks that are part of the Vuyaes Ogazón Collection. There are about 150 pieces that were part of dances, parties, festivals and other cultural rituals in Mexico.
These were made with different materials such as maché, huaje, wood, paper, among others. They also have different colors and designs, many of them refer to animals and flowers.
At the same time you will see works of contemporary art; pieces that accompany the masks and seek a dialogue with them. Totems, performance, video projections and sculptures are some of them.
These installations will invite you to reflect on the relationship between popular and contemporary art. 🤔
The exhibition “Chapter VI: Rituals” at Lago Algo (📍Lago Mayor, II Section Bosque de Chapultepec) will be open to the public from September 📅21. Remember that entry to this space is free; you can visit it 🕛Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
