During the Halloween and Day of the Dead season, a Scooby-Doo race is coming to Mexico City. The best part is that there’s an option for you to run alongside your pet. You can even wear a costume.
The 2026 Mystery Race will take place on the morning of Sunday, October 18, 2026. You can run, jog, or walk. There will be several distances:
- 5 km Run: for people ages 12 and older
- 3 km Run and Walk: for people ages 6 and up
There are two ways to participate: with or without a pet. Plus, participants and their dogs can wear costumes. Special recognition will be given to the three best costumes (for both dog and runner).
How much does registration cost for the Scooby-Doo race in Mexico City?
The registration fee for the race starts at $899 (through September 3). From September 4 through October 16, it will cost $999 per person. It’s worth noting that if you’re running with your dog, you’ll have to pay an extra fee of $200 before September 3 and $250 from September 4 through October 16.
During the race, there will be water stations for dogs so they can stay hydrated. It’s important that your dog wears a harness and leash, and has their vaccination record with them.
Remember that whether you walk, run, or jog, your dog will be exerting itself physically, so it’s important that it has had prior training or that you consult your veterinarian before the race, especially if your dog is older or isn’t used to a lot of physical activity.
