Starting this Saturday, August 2, you can visit the new sound installation at the Colegio de San Ildefonso. Its name is Leviathan and it focuses on the relationship between technology and the sense of identity.
It is composed of two telephone booths, which we used to see very often in Mexico City; however, little by little they have disappeared.
In each of the booths there is a chatbot that you can talk to when you pick up the phone. What you will hear is not a robotic voice, but the artificial intelligence will simulate the voices of those visitors who have interacted with this sound installation.
The chatbot is fed with these voices, which will form its personality. According to Cultura UNAM, this artificial intelligence not only remembers these voices but also learns and evolves. Each time you visit it you will hear something different.
When can I visit the sound installation at the Colegio de San Ildefonso?

This sound installation will be available from August 2 to September 28 at the Colegio de San Ildefonso (Justo Sierra 16, Historic Center of Mexico City). You will find it right in the exhibition hall located on the first floor.
Leviatán is a project by María Salafranca and Ciro Puif Bonet with the aim of exploring the relationship we have created with artificial intelligence, as well as the way in which algorithms “shape our sense of self,” as detailed on the Cultura UNAM website. Have you ever wondered about the border between the human and the digital?
You can visit it from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm. Admission is $50; however, students and teachers pay $25. In the case of children under 12 years old, people with disabilities and seniors, admission is free.
