If you thought your trip home this weekend would be business as usual, take note because Metro Line 2 will have a split route and closed stations.
Starting at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, and on May 30 and 31, as well as June 1, 2, and 3, the Blue Line will operate on two separate train loops: from Tasqueña to Xola and from Pino Suárez to Cuatro Caminos.
The Viaducto and Chabacano stations will be completely closed, while San Antonio Abad, Nativitas, and Portales will be without service until further notice.
To ensure you don’t get stranded mid-trip, a free alternative service will be provided by buses from the Passenger Transport Network (RTP) on the affected section from Xola to Pino Suárez.
Finally, on Thursday, June 4, starting at 5:00 a.m., normal service will resume from Tasqueña to Cuatro Caminos.
Please note: The Mexico City Metro reported that, although regular service is resuming, passengers will not be able to board or disembark at the San Antonio Abad, Portales, and Nativitas stations until further notice, as station renovations will continue beyond the World Cup.
Please note that these adjustments are due to the renovation of Calzada de Tlalpan, which includes new lighting, sidewalks, a bike lane, and an elevated pedestrian walkway, as well as maintenance work on the Collective Transportation System.
Plan your travel times carefully, let your friends and family know, and don’t let the changes to Line 2 of the Mexico City Metro catch you off guard.
