The rain will not only continue this week-end we will have heavy precipitation. The National Meteorological Service (SMN) informed that this Friday, August 9, a rainstorm will begin that will affect CDMX and other states of the country. Keep an eye on the forecast.
During a press conference, it was explained that this rainstorm is caused by tropical wave 15 and a low pressure zone. It will cause heavy rains, as well as strong winds. Take your precautions.
how will the rainstorm affect CDMX?
According to information from National Water Commission (Conagua), the first states affected by this rainstorm will be Oaxaca, Chiapas, Campeche, Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Tabasco and Veracruz. The first two will experience heavy to intense rains, while the rest of the states will experience very heavy rains during Friday, August 9.
Regarding Mexico City, rainfall will be very heavy to heavy on Saturday, August 10. The forecast is the same for the states of Morelos, Oaxaca, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Puebla, Tlaxcala, Veracruz and the State of Mexico.
On Sunday, August 11, heavy to intense rains will continue in the center, south and west of the country.
Remember that during the rainy season it is important to take some measures. The Secretariat of Integrated Risk Management and Civil Protection recommends:
- Keep away from trees, light wires or billboards that may fall
- Do not cross streets with water currents or puddles
- Do not throw garbage on the street
- If possible, sweep and keep free of garbage the drain closest to your home
