We are very lucky that the official Netflix experience premieres in CDMX almost at the same time as the fifth season.
Here you will be transported to the other side and made to feel like a member of the Hellfire Club. First you’ll be immersed in the series with a special effects-filled tour to gain the same powers as Eleven and defeat Vecna. There will also be photo opportunities at Hawkins’ most iconic locations, so don’t forget to wear your best 80’s outfit.
The Bunker
Here you’ll feel like you’re inside the Palace Arcade and you’ll be able to challenge your friends in the arcade games (they even have several pinball machines and one from Stranger Things, of course). The Bunker is a three-story unlimited arcade, a paradise for those who love video games and other arcade games. They even have an axe-throwing area if you want to try your hand at killing demogorgons.
As if that wasn’t enough, they also have superhero replicas, collectibles and all the 80’s vibes. We’re sure Mike, Dustin, Will, Lucas and Max would have a blast here.
Especially for the price! Play as much as you want for $280 Tuesday through Thursday and $380 Friday through Sunday.
Take your crush to this version of Rink O Mania to skate around holding hands. Or even show off your best skate moves to the beat of the music. Do you want to enter an alternate world where you have to defeat a real super powerful enemy? In Pixel Universe you will have to go through levels like a video game to defeat the “final boss”. Test your physical and strategic skills with your friends just like in Hellfire Club.
If you too have a group of 4 or more friends that you can imagine yourself defeating Vecna with, take advantage of the group ticket promotion for $299 per person. And at the end, you can’t leave without trying a super cheesy burger on the second floor.
Stranger Things Liverpool Menu
The executive chefs who created this menu are true fans of the series and it shows: all the dishes on the Stranger Things themed menu have fun allusions to the other side, Hawkins and your favorite characters. You can find them at Liverpool Restaurant and Experiencia Gourmet but be warned, they don’t have the same dishes. Our favorites from the former were the Upside Down Burger (served upside down and with a white bun and a black bun) and the dessert, Vecna’s Sweet Revenge, which paints your mouth black. In Experience we recommend the Demopizza of cold meats, the crepes with Scoops Ahoy ice cream and their lemonades.
Last videoclub in CDMX: Videoclub Amores
To feel the nostalgia of renting a movie from a video store, this is the last one you can visit in the city. They have a huge catalog and you can go to their branch, sign up and take a movie for three days for only $25. They are open Monday through Saturday from 9:00-19:00.
Another retro place in the city to make you feel like you’re in the Stranger Things series is the Roxy kiosk in Chapultepec. It has all the Scoops Ahoy vibes and you feel like at any second Steve or Robin will be out to serve you (that’s if they’re not too busy cracking Russian codes). It is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00.
A spot for true gamers, here they have PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and several PCs available for you to play whatever you want. If you are one of those who can spend hours playing, their promotions will suit you, but the basic one is $140 for 3 hours. The best thing is their hours: Sunday to Thursday from 12:00 to 20:00 and, for those who are night owls, Fridays and Saturdays from 12:00 to 6:00 in the morning.
