You can now visit the “Sinfonía de Colores” exhibition in Mexico City’s Historic Center! This exhibition features various musical instruments that have been reimagined and transformed by Wixárika master artisans. Make a note of the details because it will only be on display for a short time.
This colorful exhibition pays tribute to Wixárika art. As you walk through the exhibition, you’ll see all kinds of wind, percussion, and string instruments adorned with Huichol art, as well as large-format photographs. You’ll find everything from a guitar to a drum set bursting with color.
Where is the “Symphony of Colors” exhibition, and until when can you visit it?
As we mentioned, the exhibition will be on for a short time. It opened on June 23 and will run through August 30. Take advantage of the fact that summer vacation is just around the corner to go check it out.
You’ll find it at the Mexico City Museum, located at José María Pino Suárez 30, in the Historic Center of Mexico City. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
In addition to showcasing this iconic art form, the exhibition aims to celebrate Mexico’s rich cultural heritage.
“Through these musical instruments, we want to share our Wixárika art—you’ll see our culture in every piece, every figure, and every instrument,” explained master artisan Marco Carrillo during the exhibition’s opening.
