If you haven’t visited The Resident yet, this is your final call: Lee Broom ’s exhibition in Polanco will close on April 10, 2026.
What began as part of Art Week became one of the most talked-about design experiences of the season. And it’s no wonder: this installation completely transforms a historic house into an immersive journey where light, materials, and art interact in every corner.
If you’re looking for a light exhibition in Mexico City, this one definitely stands out for its concept. It’s not a conventional gallery, but an experience that unfolds as you walk through rooms filled with sculptural pieces, lighting installations, and carefully curated works.
In total, more than 50 pieces by the British designer are on display, marking his first major exhibition in Mexico.
A journey through spaces that seem otherworldly

The most striking feature is in the central atrium: a monumental cascade of light that cascades down the main staircase and marks the beginning of the tour. From there, the exhibition guides you through different spaces, each with its own unique atmosphere.
One of the favorites is the bathroom, transformed in golden tones, with a 70s aesthetic that blends the elegant with the unexpected. In contrast, the conservatory offers a completely different experience: filled with natural light and reflections that shift as you move through it.
There are also more intimate pieces, such as handmade plaster sculptures by Lee Broom himself, which invite a more contemplative pause.
Additionally, the exhibition features works by Mexican artists, seamlessly integrated into the overall concept. Materials such as marble, stone, and travertine recur throughout the space, creating a cohesive visual narrative.
