The first thing you need to know is that January 21st of each year is International Mariachi Day, which commemorates and recognizes their music. It is worth mentioning that mariachi and its expressions were recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2011.
The entire mariachi tradition has remained alive over the years and has reached other countries such as Japan and Colombia, to name a few. That’s right: it’s not only in Mexico that we enjoy their music.
Date and time of the Mariachi Festival in Tlalpan 2026
The second edition of the Mariachi Festival in Tlalpan will be held this Sunday, January 18, 2026, on the esplanade of the municipality. Between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m ., different mariachi groups will perform on stage.
