Plan a Sunday at the piers of Xochimilco now it will be more Caro with the new prices of the trajineras.
As of July 30, a one-hour trajinera ride went from $600 to $750, while the horseback ride went from $200 to $260.
The announcement appeared in the Official Gazette of Mexico City, the official document of the local government.
It is clarified that service providers in the zone requested that the mayor’s office adjust prices. “Given the recent increase in the basic food basket products, being for some their main income for the maintenance of their families.”
Xochimilco the text adds that it is one of the most important attractions of the city, both for locals and tourists.
Its canals, trajineras, and chinampas were declared a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987.

But it was not only the trajinera trips that increased in price but also the other services available at the piers:

- Photography, $100.
- 355-milliliters light beer, $40.
- 355-milliliter dark beer, $50.
- 355-milliliter soda, $30.
- 600-milliliter bottle of water, $30.
- Full tourist menu, $230.
- Cost per unit of quesadillas, sopes, tlacoyos or tostadas, $110, and $130 per order.
- Elotes, esquites, chicharrones and caramel apples, $45.
- Half an hour horseback ride, $135.
