The Historic Center will become the perfect setting to celebrate the culture and traditions of this indigenous people. Representatives of the Triqui community will visit Mexico City for a weekend carnival .
If you’re interested in learning more about Mexico’s indigenous peoples, this event is sure to be a great start. If we look at a map of the northeastern part of the state of Oaxaca, in the region known as the Mixteca Oaxaqueña, we’ll find this town. With the goal of promoting and preserving its identity, this community will host a unique celebration.
The Triqui Community Carnival in Mexico City will be an introduction to their music, cuisine, and dances, among other artistic expressions. The event will take place nextSaturday, April 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Juan de la Granja 74, La Merced, very close to the Candelaria Metro station.

Between workshops, musical groups performing traditional pieces, and a calenda, you’ll be able to enjoy a cultural festival that reflects the resilience and unity of a “Meso-ethnic group” that has historically fought to defend its territory and customs.
Don’t miss this great party in the Historic Center!
