Following the earthquakes that struck northern Venezuela on June 24, solidarity has been swift, and a Topos México collection center has already been set up in Mexico City.
The famous Topos Tlaltelolco Rescue Brigade, A.C., better known as Topos México, launched a call on social media to collect humanitarian aid and essential equipment. If you’d like to support this cause, the location is Magistrados 75, Ampliación El Sifón, in the Iztapalapa borough.
What can you donate? The list is divided into three essential categories to address the emergency. For the general public, the following are requested: bottled water, tents, plastic sheeting, insect repellent, sunscreen, sanitary pads, soap, alcohol, gauze, and bandages.
As for non-perishable food items, you can bring powdered milk, canned food, instant soups, energy bars, and nuts.
In addition, it is essential to support the rescue workers who are in the disaster zones; therefore, they are accepting: helmets, gloves, boots, filter masks, headlamps, picks, shovels, pry bars, grinders, rotary hammers, shears, spreaders, sledgehammers, trauma kits, stretchers, cervical collars, whistles, radios for communication with the Command Post, and orange spray paint for marking.
