If you’re someone who can’t start the day without a good cup of your favorite beverage, get ready, because Mexico City will host the highly anticipated finals of the World AeroPress Championship coffee festival.
Next Sunday, December 6, 2026, the Frontón Bucareli will become the epicenter of the world’s largest coffee brewing competition, marking a historic milestone as this is the first time this major event has been held in a coffee-producing country.
The world finals will bring together the best international baristas. Keep in mind that to get this far, the season began with nearly 8,000 participants spread across more than 60 countries, competing in over 230 regional and national events.
In the final competition, each champion will have only five minutes to brew a cup of coffee using an AeroPress.
Afterward, a panel of judges will evaluate the creations, and on the count of three, each judge will select their favorite cup. Through elimination rounds, a single person will be crowned the 2026 AeroPress World Champion.
Activities for coffee lovers
But the excitement doesn’t end with the competition, as the event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and feature a variety of activities.
You’ll be able to explore the famous Roasters Village, where twelve carefully selected national and international roasters will offer their brews. You’ll have the opportunity to sample more than 30 different coffees and vote for your favorite to award the coveted “Best of the Village 2026” prize.
In addition, the program includes a space to sample international teas at the Spirit Tea Counter, delicious local cuisine, live music, and excellent exhibitions.
