The countdown to the 2026 World Cup has already begun, and some of the city’s most important cultural venues are joining the party. The National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL) announced a special edition of Museum Night featuring activities inspired by soccer, community, and culture.
Next Tuesday, June 10, various INBAL museums will offer a special program featuring concerts, picnics, workshops, tours, screenings, and even pickup soccer games to celebrate the World Cup atmosphere already taking hold in Mexico City.
There will be picnics, mariachi music, and activities for the whole family
The program features events for all tastes. The Carrillo Gil Art Museum will present “MACGOL: Between Documentary and Fiction. A Cinematic Review of Soccer and Its Effects, ” an activity that explores the relationship between cinema and sports.
Meanwhile, the Museum of the Palace of Fine Arts will host the Mariachi Real de Jalisco from Amalia Hernández’s Ballet Folklórico de México, while the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo House-Studio Museum will organize a picnic accompanied by a dance performance.
There will also be a catrina fashion show at the Diego Rivera Mural Museum, drawing and printmaking workshops at the San Carlos National Museum and the National Print Museum, as well as guided tours at the Tamayo Museum.
