Get your running shoes ready because Chapultepec is hosting a race dedicated to the jaguar! This will be the first WWF CDMX 2026 Race, taking place in Chapultepec Forest. An event combining sports and nature conservation awaits you. There will be 3-, 5-, and 10-kilometer routes, so you can participate by walking or running, depending on your age and fitness level.
The event will take place on Sunday, November 29, starting at 7:00 a.m., in the First Section of Chapultepec Forest. This edition, called the Panda Run – Jaguar Edition, aims to bring together people interested in exercising while learning more about the importance of protecting Mexico’s biodiversity.
Under the slogan “We Run to Bring Nature Back,” WWF Mexico invites you to log kilometers and raise awareness about the conservation of iconic species such as the jaguar.
WWF Mexico City Race: Who can participate, and what distances will be offered?
You don’t need to be a long-distance runner to take part in this first edition. The event will feature three categories with different age requirements.
The 3-kilometer walk is open to people ages 12 and up. It’s a great option for those who prefer to go at their own pace and share the experience with their family.
There will also be a 5-kilometer race, open to participants ages 13 and up, and a 10-kilometer race for people ages 18 and older. Both distances will have separate categories for women and men.
The races will be governed by the current regulations of the Mexican Federation of Athletics Associations.
How much does the 2026 WWF Race in Chapultepec cost?
Registration costs $650 per person, and the race is scheduled to start at 7:00 a.m. The organizers recommend arriving 60 minutes early, so be sure to factor that time into your travel plans. The start and finish lines will be in the First Section of Chapultepec.
Beyond simply completing the course, this race aims to raise awareness about jaguar conservation and the ecosystems where they live. WWF Mexico works to protect biodiversity and promote a more balanced relationship between people and nature.
