If you’re already making plans for May, this is for you: Yucatán Week in Mexico 2026 is coming to Mexico City with an event full of flavor, tradition, and culture…and best of all, admission is free!
For several days, the Palacio de los Deportes will be transformed into a little slice of southeastern Mexico, where you can discover everything that makes Yucatán special without leaving the city.
Here, the plan is simple: eat well, stroll around, and let yourself be surprised. You’ll find a wide variety of traditional dishes like cochinita pibil, panuchos, and other traditional snacks that make Yucatecan cuisine famous.
But it’s not all about food. You can also browse stands featuring traditional crafts and textiles—perfect for picking up a handmade souvenir and supporting local artisans.
Yucatecan music, dance, and tradition all in one place
In addition to the culinary and artisanal tour, the event will feature a cultural program that promises to liven up the atmosphere. Although full details have not yet been revealed, there are expected to be folk dance performances and traditional music.
Get ready to watch—and maybe even try—the steps of the Yucatecan jarana, one of the state’s most iconic dances. It’s one of those events where you won’t just be watching, but living the full experience.
The cultural program will be announced soon via social media, so it’s worth keeping an eye out if you want to plan your visit well.
