If you have a free Sunday in October, Coyoacán has just the thing for you: on the 18th, the Festival of Asian Cultures will be held, featuring the theme “The Four Gates of Asia.” Get ready for this day trip—you won’t need a passport, just a little curiosity to guide you in discovering the culture of this continent.
The festival will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the IMSS Union’s Churubusco Convention Center, half a block from the General Anaya Metro station (Line 2), in the Coyoacán district. Admission is free.
What’s in store at the event
Various cultural expressions from across Asia will come together in a single space. Among the announced activities are:
- Traditional music and dance: live performances to kick off the cultural tour.
- A blessing ceremony with Tibetan monks.
- Literature and Artistic Expressions
- Asian Culture and Traditions: activities to learn about the customs and ways of life in different countries.
- Food and themed products.
How to Get to the Festival of Asian Cultures
Getting there by public transportation is easy: the venue is just a short walk from the General Anaya Metro station. Since the event lasts only one day, we recommend planning this trip to another continent now—who will you invite?
