From the classic Tecolotes to the cochinita pibil and breaded cutlet versions! Everyone is talking about Sanborns’ Mollete Festival; the classic restaurant is once again the talk of nostalgic diners looking to turn the traditional breakfast into a memorable experience.
The molletiza consists of a series of variations that blend the classic recipe with different stews: cochinita pibil, with bacon or ham, breaded cutlet, and even “molletzzas” with pepperoni, Hawaiian, and Mexican-style toppings. Of course, the menu wouldn’t be complete without the iconic Tecolotes, which are topped with chilaquiles au gratin.
Each plate comes with four pieces, but we recommend ordering the molletes platter, which includes eight pieces of different varieties, pico de gallo, and sauces.
We know that the flavor depends on each restaurant; we went to the Insurgentes Norte location and the cochinita ones stole our hearts, although the combination of butter, cheese, and beans on soft bread is already a winner.
How much does it cost? For online orders, this platter costs $310, but in the restaurant it’s priced at $330. In general, plates of four molletes range from $140 to $207. Note: these prices may vary depending on the type of purchase, as well as the location you visit.

How long will the 2026 Mollete Festival be at Sanborns?
