World Cup fever has already begun in the city. As part of the preparations for the World Cup, the Mexico City government unveiled the special World Cup 2026 edition of the Integrated Mobility Card (MI), an item that will not only be useful for getting around but also a must-have souvenir.
This card works exactly like any other MI card: you can use it on the Metro, Metrobús, Cablebús, Trolleybus, RTP, Light Rail, and even Ecobici. But what makes it special is its commemorative design and limited-edition status.
The design blends the best of the city with the excitement of soccer. It features illustrations of the Angel of Independence, the Bellas Artes building, and the Torre Latinoamericana, along with a distinctly Mexico City touch featuring iconic wildlife such as the axolotl and the cacomixtle. All with an aesthetic inspired by the 2026 World Cup.
In addition, up to 1.5 million cards are planned for production, so it will be relatively easy to get one… though it’s sure to fly off the shelves among collectors.
Where to get the 2026 World Cup card
