We’re getting closer and closer to the 2026 World Cup, and our city is already preparing with special traffic operations for the matches at the now-renamed Estadio Banorte (called Estadio Ciudad de México for the World Cup). Therefore, if you plan to attend the renovated Estadio Azteca and will be using ride-hailing apps, it is essential that you check the official maps to know exactly where they go, as there will be restricted zones for picking up and dropping off passengers.
Note! It’s worth noting that these restrictions will be put to the test for the Mexico vs. Portugal match taking place this Saturday, March 28. Remember that this match will mark the stadium’s reopening after nearly two years of construction and renovations.
Pickup and drop-off zones for Uber, Didi, Indrive, etc.

Remember that geofences have been installed around the stadium, so the apps will not detect trips within a designated perimeter.
The areas where the pickup zones will be located are:
In addition, they are expected to be set up on Boulevard Gran Sur and Av. del Imán; however, there is no official confirmation yet.
From these drop-off zones, you’ll have to walk to the stadium, as there will be a road closure operation called the “Last Mile Zone,” where only pedestrians will be allowed to pass.
If you plan to use a ride-hailing service to get to the former Estadio Azteca, don’t forget to check how far they go. Consider wearing comfortable shoes to ensure a smooth walk.
