1. Los Panchos

The experience is not lacking at Los Panchos restaurant which, since 1945, has put Mexico’s traditional dishes on a high level. Its star preparation is carnitas, but at this time of the year the chiles en nogada do not fail diners.
The chile filling is a true delight. The combination of ground meat (pork and beef) with apple, almonds, pine nuts and plantain is perfectly complemented with a succulent nogada bath and lots of fresh pomegranate. Not to be missed!

2. Nicos

This is one of the most famous chiles en nogada in the CDMX. Nicos is a Mexican cuisine restaurant and year after year it surprises us with a delicious recipe.
Its recipe is characterized by being faithful to the traditional preparation, in addition to using ingredients from San Andrés Calpan. This is a town in Puebla where they produce walnuts, panohera apples, Creole peaches and poblano peppers. This year there is a vegan version on the menu.

Try Frida Kahlo’s chiles en nogada recipe! This year, the beautiful Ex Hacienda de Enmedio presents a dish that recreates the recipe that Friducha herself prepared for Diego.

Chiles en nogada of more than a kilo! At Don Lázaro El Viajero you will find this dish in gigantic portions. The recipe they present has more than 30 ingredients, plus they use large chiles, celebrating their 80th anniversary this 2024!
Unlike other preparations, the nogada they serve at Don Lázaro is thicker, plus the filling is only with pork. Before arriving at the table, the chili goes through a scale (discounting the weight of the dish) and is labeled with the exact weight. Ideal for sharing.

When it comes to chiles en nogada, Angelopolitano leads the way. This restaurant is headed by chef Gerardo Quezadas, who maintains the family legacy of exalting Puebla’ s gastronomy. Every year a festival of chiles en nogada is held to present the best recipes based on this dish.
In their menu you will find versions with different ingredients and techniques. There is even a story behind each recipe.
