The next Blue Moon will be visible in the sky, and there will be a very special way to welcome it: with a night horseback ride featuring bonfires, rituals, and local legends. The experience will take place at the Hacienda Barbacoa de Hoyo Don Lole in Tlacote El Alto and promises a unique night under the open sky.
This event will take place only on Saturday, May 30, and will feature activities such as guided horseback rides, storytelling of legends, traditional drinks, and grilled beef tacos. Plus, you don’t need any prior experience to participate, as the tour is designed for all ages.
Here’s what the night horseback ride under the Blue Moon will be like
The main experience lasts approximately two hours and includes horse rental, a complimentary drink, and a nighttime ritual of intentions . There will also be a mobile bar during the ride, draft beer, and traditional food for sale.
There will be two night rides. The first will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will feature a bonfire ritual from 8:30 to 9:00 p.m., returning to the hacienda around 9:45 p.m.
The second departure will be at 10:10 p.m., with a ritual and bonfire from 10:40 p.m. to 11:10 p.m., and the return around midnight.
For those who prefer not to ride a horse, there will also be nighttime walking tours within the hacienda, where local legends will be told as you explore the grounds.
Event costs and details
Admission costs $1,490 pesos per person, and the price is the same for children and adults. A 50% deposit is required to reserve your spot, as space is limited.
The experience is designed as a special celebration of the Blue Moon, a phenomenon that occurs approximately every two and a half years, making this edition truly unique.
