Whether you grew up reading The Little Prince or simply want a different cultural outing for the weekend, the Kaluz Museum will host a musical experience that blends literature, Baroque music, and live storytelling. It’s called The Little Prince: Musical Variations on a Children’s Story, an educational concert designed for the whole family to enjoy.
The program takes as its starting point the famous story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and accompanies it with some of J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations. Thus, the little prince’s journey is also transformed into a sonic experience that seeks to awaken the imagination and emotions of the audience.
A concert of The Little Prince with music by Bach
During the performance, the narration will be accompanied by live music to create different landscapes and atmospheres inspired by the story. The idea is to show how music can change the way we listen to and feel a classic story.
The concert will be performed by Il Furore, a Spanish-Mexican ensemble founded in 2017 and specializing in Baroque repertoires. Their work blends musical research with stage performances that are more accessible to audiences of all ages. In addition, they have performed at festivals and cultural venues both in Mexico and abroad.
The experience is designed so that children and adults alike can approach classical music through a more dynamic and narrative format. So if you’re looking for free cultural activities in Mexico City, this could be a great way to wrap up May.
