The real surprise during qualifying for the 2024 Mexican Grand Prix came from Brad Pitt.
The actor appeared on the track at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez to the astonishment of the public.
Who they thought was another of the Formula 1 racers visiting our city these days, turned out to be the Hollywood star.
The Oscar winner for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood appeared dressed in a white driver’s suit and matching helmet.
It wasn’t until he unveiled his face and waved to the public that his presence on the track was revealed.
And what was Brad Pitt doing at the Mexican Grand Prix?
The actor filmed scenes for a new movie, which will be called F1. In it, he will play car racer Sonny Hayes.
The cast will also include Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies(The Crown, Game of Thrones), Sarah Niles(Ted Lasso), Kim Bodnia, Damson Idris and Kerry Condon.
The film will address Hayes in retirement, when he becomes a mentor to a new Formula 1 driver.
But his return to the track, as surprising as seeing Brad Pitt at the Mexican Grand Prix, came years after he suffered a tragic accident.
In the film, Bardem will hire Brad to elevate the fictional APXGP team from 11th place to the top of the world’s top motorsport circuit.
According to film press reports, the film will seek to pay tribute to the heroism and skill of the drivers. It will also reflect the enormous challenge they face with thrilling action scenes.
The film will be released in the summer of 2025. Do you want to see it already?
