The proposal establishes that bullfights may continue but with new rules, creating the figure of “bullfighting spectacle free of violence”. We tell you what it is about.
This is the proposal to create bullfights without violence.
In a press conference, this Thursday, March 13, the creation of seven new rules for bullfighting was proposed:
- In the first place, bullfights with violence will be prohibited. In other words, bulls will not be allowed to be injured during these activities.
- The legal figure “bullfighting spectacle without violence” will be created, so that this practice can continue in the bullring.
- It will be forbidden to kill the bull both inside and outside the bullring. When the bullfighting concludes, the bull must be returned to its herd.
- It will not be allowed to mistreat the bull before, during and after the bullfight.
- No sharp articles such as banderillas, swords and lances may be used. Bullfighters will be allowed to use the muleta and the cape.
- During the bullfights the bull’s horns will be protected to avoid injuring people or animals.
- The bullfight will have a maximum time of 10 minutes per bull, while the activity must last a maximum of half an hour.
