The Festival of Indigenous Cultures, Peoples, and Native Neighborhoods of Mexico City will end this Sunday, August 23. Among the closing activities is a massive calenda in the Historic Center, featuring the Banda Monumental Oaxaqueña, as well as other groups. It will be an event filled with music.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Culture, various bands will participate in this calenda, including the Raíces Sonoras Philharmonic, the Banda Oaxaqueña Sonido Serrano, and the Jabalí Jaa Orchestra, among many others.
The best part is that the event will conclude with a concert in Mexico City’s Zócalo. Take note of all the details so you don’t miss a thing, and set aside this Sunday.
Route and schedule for the marching band parade in the Historic Center
The parade will begin at the intersection of Dr. Mora and Av. Juárez at exactly 12:40 p.m. It will then proceed to the capital’s Zócalo, where a concert titled “Las raíces también se escuchan” will take place at 2:00 p.m.
You’ll hear the bands participating in the calenda at the Plaza de la Constitución. As we mentioned, the event is part of the 2026 Festival of Indigenous Cultures, Peoples, and Native Neighborhoods, which concludes this Sunday, August 23.
In addition to the artistic and cultural performances, you’ll find a market in the Zócalo where you can buy traditional sweets, handicrafts, textiles, and much more. Admission is free.
